16. Thrunton

A tour of part of the Vale of Whittingham. Starts from the car park at Thrunton Wood (085 098).

Head downhill ignoring the track into the woods on your L. Bear NW through a gate and over a couple of fields making for Whittingham. Go through the village, over the bridge, and take the Netherton road to where it branches S at Eslington Lowhill. At the junction for Callaly make for Yetlington following the natural lie of the land towards Trewhitt Hall and High Trewhitt.

From here the ride heads E to Lorbottle Hall. Steady climbing leads between the Callaly Estate and the northern slopes of Thrunton. Continue towards Whittingham and the return to Thrunton Wood.
